Hi, I’m Lenet, and I’m not your traditional financial advisor.
My journey started with a call from a collections agency.
They claimed I owed $3,000 for an apartment I previously lived in. I felt panicked and powerless. At the time, I was a graduate student earning about $800 a month, with no savings and no one to turn to for financial guidance. I knew the charge was wrong, but that didn’t stop the anxiety.
If someone could just call and incorrectly demand money, what else didn’t I know?
A classmate suggested I check my credit score. “Checking your credit hurts your credit,” I said. Turns out, that was the first of many financial myths I had to unlearn over the years.
My parents had immigrated to the U.S. and worked tirelessly to provide for us, but navigating the American financial system was never part of their playbook. No one around me seemed to have reliable financial advice, or the confidence to talk about money at all.
That experience planted a seed. I eventually landed a job working at the Office of Financial Aid at a liberal arts university and became fascinated by the psychology of money. I watched families make life changing decisions, like signing for over $250,000 in student loans, without fully understanding what it meant for their future. I realized that knowledge, not wealth, was the missing piece.
I wanted to help. I studied for the Certified Financial Planner™ exam and passed in 2019. I became passionate about teaching students about sound financial habits. Shortly after, Fidelity Investments recruited me as a financial advisor, launching my career in corporate finance. While I learned a lot, my heart was always in teaching and empowering – not selling.
Eventually, I joined a small firm serving the ultra-wealthy. When that firm laid me off, it felt like the push I needed to finally build the company I’d been dreaming of, a firm designed for women, by a woman who’s been there.
I created this business so no one would ever feel too broke, too intimidated, or too late to ask questions about money. I never want to sell products, gatekeep knowledge, or make anyone feel inadequate for not knowing “the right things” when it comes to money.
I created this firm so that people like me can receive judgment-free guidance, gain financial literacy, and build a plan that works for them.
I live boldy and within my own truth on a day to day basis, not letting finances hold me back from achieving anything I want to do with my life, and that’s what I want for you, too.
More about me
When I’m not guiding clients through financial choices, you’ll find me hunting for my next adventure: surfing warm beaches with friends, tinkering with sourdough, pouring juices at the local farmers market, or skiing all winter long.
I make an unforgettable morning espresso.
And yes, I love dogs (all of them, but especially mine).
